Rants and Poetry of a Tired and Angry Man.

Just what the title says, don't look for anything too profound or earthshaking.

Drought

I think we're lucky.

We're lucky because I think this is the definitive moment.

The beginning.

One mile-marker past the point of no return.

That brief transitional period in history when our species goes from is to was.

And it's happening now.

And we get to be here
now
watching in in 4k digital
flat screen
surround sound
a hundred channels
broadband
streamed into our homes
it's here.

We all know it.

Deep down,
in that part of us we like to pretend we've evolved beyond,
we know it,
and we know that we deserve it.

And really
it's time some other species had a shot.

So rejoice!

Let's get this party started right.

Let there be singing
dancing
wine
and merriment.

Atone if you feel you must.

Try to prolong it if you think that is really necessary.

But whatever you do,
don't shed any tears.

There's a drought on, and it wouldn't do to waste the water.
