Attrition
So today we're about to lose yet another of the little freedoms that we have come to enjoy.
Nobody normal really seems to want this to happen, but since when do the people get a say in what is done to them.
And in the grand scheme of things it's not that big a deal.
Just another in an unending sequence of minor inconveniences.
And still we hear the sheep on both sides of the trough bleating that we should be thankful for what we have, that the wolves care about our opinions, that we have some say in the world we live in.
That these changes are in our best interest.
That some rich, soft, well taken care of individuals know better how to live our lives than we do.
That we somehow owe these parasites something.
etc.
Sad fact is that we now have a generation entering adulthood who has no memory of a pre 9/11 world.
An entire generation that has no idea just how far our government is overreaching it's original mandate.
That knows just how much the corporate world has taken over this country.
Or just how badly they're being screwed.
They all think this is normal.
Acceptable
Correct
They relish their small victories, thinking it's the changing of a tide when really it's just a minor appeasement.
Honestly believing that political parties and social causes are more than just distractions.
A little societal snake oil to slick the skids and give the servant classes a sense of control.
Give the peasants a small victory here and there to distract them from the overarching defeat they're being served on a daily basis, and they'll be less likely to take up the torches and pitch forks.
Tell the kids that things always get better, knowing full well that the opposite is almost always true.
Keep people breeding so that we have enough excess population to keep the wages low and the price of land high.
And watch the great experiment crumble.
But don't worry...
We're still free to buy useless shit at inflated rates so that we can give it to people who don't really want or need it in order to prove that we care about them, and to try to make up for the 80 hour weeks we spend away from them working to buy useless shit to give to the people we care about to prove that we care about them....
At this point, are we really expected to actually care if it all collapses?
