Kill it with fire
Fresh paint
gypsum dust and plaster
burning insulation
fresh stripped copper.
Construction adhesive drowning out the smell of fading memories.
Boldly forth into new and shining tomorrows
across the fading bones of yesterday
pushing our carcasses
boils and proud-flesh
weeping sores and athletes foot.
Walking blight with suits and cell phones.
Deluding ourselves.
Pretending progress is not disease
nor the past an infection.
Wiling away our days in parasitic ignobility.
